Memories

What is it?
The television program Memories is made by KRO - a public broadcasting company - and is about memories of people that have been lovers in the past. People can write to our program requesting to meet once more with this person. These reunification’s are meant to be happy ones and at no time do we have an interest in locating people that do not wish to be found. Nor is it our intent to hurt or upset anybody. We have the reputation of a pure and decent program, often using a lot of archive material of the time that a certain story took place. We make a pure program in a professional and discrete manner, often using historical film footage of the time that the relationship took place.

What not?
We would like to emphasize that Memories is not a dating show. It’s about sharing memories from the past, not starting up a new relationship.

Impact
Memories has already been broadcasted in the Netherlands for more than ten years . In those years reunifications took place all over the world. In some cases people had not seen each other for more than sixty years. The themes of the reunifications vary. Sometimes people want to meet once again with the other, because they never had a chance to say goodbye or were not in a position to explain why they broke off the relationship. Other times the relationship failed...Relationships sometimes lasted for not more than a holiday, others for years. B ut they all have one thing in common: the great impact on life.

Through the years, Memories developed a program that is nowadays filmed at different locations without the use of a studio. The presenter visits people their homes or at a location of relating to the time the relationship took place.
